Fun facts about the Janson Family...

 Coat of Arms

The Janson Family Coat of Arms above or family crest was approved in the name of Queen Elizabeth II, as archived by her representative, the Governor General of Canada. The crest was derived from an old golden family wedding ring and wax stamp (from which copies are made and distributed to family members), estimated to be about 300 years old (the oldest family ring, not the age of the crest or the copies), which depict very similar symbols, and whose family lore proposes an older evolution of the design over time based on different historical events.

The former (likely not the original) family crest as found on the family rings had a crest split in two. The left side of the crest had a crescent moon above a pine tree, typical of those found in the great holy books and around the Mediterranean Sea. The pine tree remains in the new crest but the crescent moon has been removed.

Per family lore passed on by Jacques Janson Sr. to son Frederick Janson, the crescent moon had its origins in Middle Ages Period of the Holy Wars and the Crusades, a symbol brought back and added to this Christian military family ring crest, despite being an Islamic Symbol, thus collectively memorializing the exchange of cultures during the Crusades.

It is fun to note that Frederick's mother is a descendent of Charlemagne, the leader of the Crusades, in the context that Frederick's father's family crest was derived during or influenced from having served in a military capacity in the Crusades hundreds of years earlier, further supported by the military chevron, found in the original family crest. Said differently, Frederick's mother's relative led the war that Frederick's father's relative was likely a soldier in, thus potentially uniting Frederick's mother's and father's families together a thousand years earlier, only to cross again to have Frederick and his brother Jacques.

The right side of the former family crest had three handles of three fighting swords about a square echelon, or chevron, used to designate rank in armed forces, but in this case the presence or absence per family lore signaled the difference between the rings of the eldest sibling versus the other siblings on the family rings and pendants.  This chevron has also been removed from the new crest, equating to a new equality among siblings, no longer reserved for the oldest sibling, as practiced in "old" Bordeaux.

Though the Janson Patriarch family grew up in different parts of "old" Bordeaux, France -- a small city in Southwest France, two hours from Spain, along a river to the Atlantic Ocean, a magical city resembling a cobblestone castle-turned-apartments (some with 16 rooms or more) -- the spelling Janson is actually Dutch or from the Netherlands, in French known as the "Low Country", which is on the other side of Belgium from France.

Replacing the chevron for rank and the crescent moon from the crusades, is a knight, symbolizing the military service history of the family, from Charlemagne to John Adams to Frederick's great grandfathers (WWI), grandfathers (WWII), and father (War of Algeria), and to Frederick (a Private in the Canadian Army, but never deployed), the most recent military veteran.

Also added in the new family crest is the dove, a sign for love, covered in roses, symbolic of the rose, which is symbolic of Lord Jesus, the Queen of England, and symbolic of the France's highest medal of honor, also illustrated at the lowest point of the family crest, specifically and specially-attaching the medal of honors to the Coat of Arms, as bestowed on the patriarch of the Janson Family, Jacques Janson, whose career in politics in France and Canada left him with some of the highest medals of honor from France, England, and Canada, 13 to date.

Four books of photos were published for the family with the number of heads of state Jacques Janson met from around the world, first on behalf of the Canadian government, then on behalf of the French government, including, but not limited to, all of the living French Presidents and Prime Ministers, and all living Canadian and French Prime Ministers and Canadian Governor Generals, having also worked with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.

Elaborate red, white, and blue ribbons symbolize the colors of the Canadian, French, and American flags, appropriate for this French-American-Canadian family. The Latin family moto translates into, "As loyal as I am to my friends, so shall I also be to my enemies."

The Janson Family Tree

The matriarch of the Janson family is Florentia Scott, whose father, Henry Eliot Scott was the first cousin of English American Poet T.S. Eliot, one of an exhausting number of historical figures in the Janson family, historically one of the most famous and documented families of all time, including, but not limited to, 2nd US President John Adams (wrote the first US constitution for the State of Massechusettes), Samuel Adams (Father of the American Revolution), the Mullens and Alden families off the Mayflower, Charlemagne, and the first Royal Families and Emperors of Europe prior to their upheaval, is the short list.

Frederick's father is the most recent member of the family to have significantly achieved a superstar status, having spend a career in both French and Canadian politics and government, an elected official for half of that time serving the French Senate in Paris, France, and who has met enough heads of state to have been able to make three books of photographs, published in print, but not digitally available. He is currently the most decorated French Citizen living in Canada with 13 medals, three of Frances highest metals, and then 10 other metals from France, Canada, and England, and who was most recently granted the aforementioned Family Coat of Arms, formalizing the same.

The following family tree below was derived from the extensive research of my grandfather, Harvard-educated Henry Eliot Scott, in collaboration with the other stated and non-stated families, who researched the lineages of Abigail Adams Cranch and William Greenleaf Eliot, and his final publication of this research can be found at the Library of Congress, and is otherwise widely distributed among family members.

In addition, having submitted cheek swab samples to the National Geographic Genographic Project, which resulted in the sequencing of the Y chromosomal DNA of my father's side of the family, and the mitochondrial DNA of my mother's side of the family, the following two genetic maps accompanied the results, which illustrate the migration of these two sets of genetic markers out of Africa, into the Middle East, and then into Europe.

Interestingly, but not surprisingly, our family genetics support the biblical account of a people coming out of Egypt into Israel, to later become the mostly executed German Jews of WWII on my father's side, a fate my father escaped, despite being born in Nazi-occupied France in WWII, with distant yet known Jewish heritage.

If all of this family tree isn't already too much to believe, our family tree includes the Merovingians, who some religious scholars, like Harvard School of Divinity's Dr. Karen King have suggested the Gospel of Mary parchment evidence, and other supporting evidence, may be evidence of the lineage of Jesus and Mary giving rise to the Merovingians.

Interestingly, the tomb of Jesus has allegedly been found and sealed, and is known as the Talpiot Tomb, and is thought to house the remains of Jesus, Mary, and many of their known family members by names as marked on the tombs. All of this of course put my family, and other related families, in an interesting position, where a DNA test from any of us would be able to confirm or disprove that the Talpiot tomb bodies are genetically linked to the Merovingians, thus proving or disproving the Tomb of Jesus. If we are more related to the bodies in those tombs than the average individual, then of course this supports the Gospel of Mary parchment theory that Jesus married Mary and they had children, and that we are just a few of those many children that would have exploded into a huge number of offspring by now thousands of years later. Having contacted the Talpiot Tomb, Harvard Divinity, and Dan Brown to see if anyone was interested in testing this hypothesis, and the responding consensus seems to be that some questions are better left unanswered.

Collectively, this creates an infinitely small possibility that our family members may be 1/100th part super princess (like Wonder Woman), half-God (like Hercules), extraterrestrial (like the Skywalkers), ancient astronaut (like Valiant Thor), or superbeing (like Octomom) – which is super cool and exciting -- except none of us were born with any super powers, we don't have exceptional luck but feel fortunate, we don't have any back channels to the divine, despite a consistent effort, nor are we super rich, and no one calls anyone in our family “Your Majesty” any more, further supporting that we are more likely than not no more special than anyone else.

Someone just took the time to research our family tree to find a few of the following historical figures that many other people are also related to, and fundamentally, we are all related to each other. Genetic research has revealed than an almond and a mushroom both have DNA in common with us, and with one another, but we have much more DNA in common with the mushroom, than with the almond, and when you think about it, that's just nuts.
The Stankiewicz Family has also performed DNA testing to discover that they are primarily (90%) Polish, and Kimberly Stankiewcz, sister of Natasha Stankiewicz, is the family Geneologist, and has researched the Stankiewicz Family in Michigan and Poland, should anyone be researching records of the same.
